Streaming Media From Your iPhone, iPad, Or Mac With AirPlay

Apple has been promising an update to AirPlay since the first release. The one-to-one protocol was equivalent to Bluetooth audio streaming, but sounded better on Wi-Fi. Apple has said that the service will be integrated throughout iOS. With the new service, you can stream music from third-party apps and Apple Music from any room in your home. You can use the app to set up and control the music on your compatible speakers.

However, some devices may not be supported by Miracast technology. Therefore, you may need to upgrade your computer to use AirPlay. Fortunately, the service is available on Windows, and it requires downloading an application from the device's store. As of this writing, Macs and PCs can use AirPlay to extend their primary display to a second screen. Whether you're using a Mac or a PC, the service will work for both.

AirPlay works over Wi-Fi, so all your devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. This means you can't use the feature when you're away from home, but you can use a portable travel router to create a temporary Wi-Fi network. Compared to Bluetooth, AirPlay is better at sending video and audio. You can play videos, movies, and games from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac with AirPlay.
